OUR MISSION
We are dedicated to providing free outdoor experiences for families, fostering healing through play and connection with nature. Our programs focuses on building resilience and joy in the great outdoors.
WHY IT MATTERS
We believe every family should have the chance to enjoy the outdoors together, regardless of income. Our free programs help kids explore, build confidence, develop leadership skills, and discover their strengths—while giving families more opportunities to unplug, connect, and create meaningful memories together. When families connect, communities grow stronger.
OUR VISION
We envision a future where every child has the opportunity to explore the outdoors, discover their potential, and grow into a confident and capable young person. We envision families spending more time together, communities that are more connected, and outdoor experiences that are accessible to everyone, regardless of income. We want to help raise a generation that values adventure, connection, and the world around them.

WHO WE SERVE
Roots to Peaks primarily serves children ages 6–14 and their families, creating free outdoor experiences that encourage exploration, learning, confidence, and connection. We also provide opportunities for teens ages 15–18 to step into leadership roles as mentors and adventure leaders, helping guide younger participants and build valuable leadership skills.

ADVENTURES WITH PURPOSE
Removing barriers so families can get outside, connect, and grow together.
Too often, cost, access, or lack of resources can keep families from experiencing the benefits of nature. We created Roots to Peaks to remove those barriers and create free, meaningful opportunities for families and young people to explore, learn, and connect.

HOW WE BUILD ADVENTURE
Roots to Peaks partners with local organizations, outdoor educators, businesses, and community members to create free, hands-on experiences for families and young people. Through nature scavenger hunts, hiking, fishing, conservation projects, outdoor education, and family adventure days, we make exploring the outdoors fun, meaningful, and accessible.
We also empower teens ages 14–18 to become mentors and adventure leaders, giving them opportunities to build leadership skills while encouraging younger kids.

WHERE WE SERVE
Roots to Peaks is based in Colorado Springs, where we create outdoor adventures in partnership with local organizations, parks, community centers, and outdoor spaces. As we grow, we hope to bring our programs to families and communities across Colorado and beyond.
Colorado Springs and surrounding mountain areas have incredible parks, trails, and outdoor spaces, but not every family has the same opportunity to enjoy them. We want to help close that gap. We believe adventure doesn't have to be far away. From neighborhood parks and local trails to lakes, forests, and mountains, there are opportunities to explore and connect with nature all around us.
